Quick Market

Overview

Quick Market is a grocery shopping app.

This was a freelance project I worked on as a UI/UX Designer for a client’s academic assignment. My main contribution focused on visual design and prototyping, which were the core aspects of the project. The research and requirements gathering were handled by the client.

Origin

Projects like this often come with limited information and few graphic assets — which means turning constraints into opportunities. In this case, the main focus was on designing a smooth and intuitive user experience.

Objective

The goal for users is to easily make online or in-person purchases for events created within the platform. The app also allows them to split the cost of purchases with other event participants, making the process more collaborative and practical.

Impact

With the platform up and running, users gain greater convenience when managing and sharing expenses for group purchases. This simplifies event planning and improves the overall experience of collective shopping.

Challenge

The main challenge in this project was to design the app screens from scratch, guided only by the client’s initial ideas. To start, we asked ourselves key questions:

How will communication around events take place?

What if the user decides to shop in person — how will that be integrated?

Once the purchase is made, how will the cost be split among participants?

These questions served as the foundation for early testing and the development of wireframes, shaping the structure of the user experience.

Discovery

Navigation

Management

How will users complete their purchases within the platform?

How can we help users quickly find the products they need?

How can we create a fast, clear, and efficient experience for shopping and splitting costs?

Research

Analysis

To better understand how to structure the shopping flow, we analyzed benchmark apps such as iFood, WhatsApp, and Rappi, focusing on usability, navigation, and interaction best practices.

Inspiration

Having a clear understanding of our target audience helped us define the direction of the project and identify references that aligned with users’ needs and behaviors.

Design System

Based on the insights gathered, we developed a visual standard that includes colors, typography, and UI components, ensuring an intuitive, consistent, and efficient user experience.

Result

The project was originally delivered in June 2016, meeting the needs and standards of that time. In 2025, it underwent a light redesign to be included in this portfolio. The goal was not only to modernize its visual and functional aspects, but also to reflect the knowledge and experience gained over the years — reinforcing a continued commitment to improving the user experience. Revisiting this project provided an opportunity to refine solutions, apply best design practices, and showcase professional growth since its initial development.
